- A historic craft in the Madhya Pradesh district of Bhopal is wooden lacquerware.
- Soft woods like dudhi, salaiya, and haldu are molded into the appropriate shapes for this artwork using a traditional lathe. Before they are prepared for sale, they are subsequently covered with a layer of lac.
- The lacquerware produced in the Sheopur district is well-known and includes both decorative and functional items.
