The traditional jewelry of Madhya Pradesh is known as the Thappa and Thussa jewelry.
Thappa, which means “to stomp,” is the method by which paper-thin sheets of gold alloyed with other metals, such as copper, are embossed with geometric and floral designs. Conversely, Thussa is the technique of interlacing gold threads to create exquisite necklaces, bracelets, and other jewelry.
In Bhopal, the most well-liked jewelry is Thappa and Thussa, and genuine artwork can be found near the Jama Masjid!
