No matter whether you are on a road trip or are flying all the way for a vacay, there’s always joy involved in relaxing in the midst of rushing sounds of falling water.
In Amarkantak, one of the oldest towns of India located in Madhya Pradesh, Kapildhara Waterfall is held in high regard for their antiquity and legend.
For the unacquainted tourists, Amarkantak is located 1000 m away from the sea level at the conjunction of Vindhyachal and Satpura ranges with the Maikal Mountains being the joining point.
This holy town is blessed with the perennial presence of Son, Johila and Narmada rivers.
There are lush and youthful forests in Amarkantak, and in the middle of these, is located the Kapildhara Waterfall.
The waterfall is situated 6 km from the Narmada Kund.
The hallowed waters of the Narmada River cascade from a height of 100 ft which turns into a waterfall. Kapila and Erandi rivers also join Narmada to form Kapil Dhara waterfall.
Ancient lore has it that the great sage Kapil performed severe austerities at the site of this waterfall.
The base of the waterfall is accessible via concrete steps, which helps you to get a good view of it.
You can spend some time admiring Mother Nature, click photos and just soak up the peaceful air.
