About Pench
Where the real Jungle Book unfolds
Pench National Park straddles the MP–Maharashtra border, taking its name from the Pench River. The teak forests, open meadows and lake-side habitats are believed to have inspired Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book in 1894.
With 758 sq km of protected forest and 60+ tigers, Pench offers some of central India's most relaxed and productive safaris. The Turia and Karmajhiri gates on the MP side are most popular.
