Balancing Rocks

• Balancing rock formations are seen all over the world. These are basically what happen when volcanic rocks get eroded over time. 
• Jabalpur also has these formations that are a wonder of nature. No matter what you do, the rocks will not be dislodged from their balanced position. As a matter of fact these rocks have survived even a fairly strong earthquake in the past.
• Balancing Rocks is situated at the base of Madan Mahal Fort, 6 km from Jabalpur, near Shailparna.

• Jabalpur is covered by low and rocky barren hillocks, mostly formed after a volcanic eruption that must have occurred millions of years ago.
• Balancing rock is an independent rock precariously balancing over another rock. Many visitors come to visit this unique sight. The physics of these rocks has also attracted a lot of geologists who keep visiting this place.
