A 70 foot statue of Shiva stands over a cavern at Kachnar City, and inside the cavern are replicas of Shivalingams from major Shiva shrines across the country.

Kachnar City is a locality in the Vijayanagar suburb of Jabalpur, and what draws visitors is a single structure: a statue of Lord Shiva standing about 70 feet high. Below it is a cavern, and the cavern is the substance of the visit. Inside are housed replicas of Shivalingams from important Shiva shrines across the country, assembled so that the major pilgrimage lingams can be seen in one place.
Because it sits within the city, this is one of the few Jabalpur sights that needs no excursion. It is a short stop, usually taken alongside the other city sites rather than on its own.
A seated figure of Lord Shiva about 70 feet high, visible from some distance within the locality and the reason most people come.
Beneath the statue is a cavern housing replicas of Shivalingams from important Shiva shrines across India. Going through it is the real content of the visit, and it takes longer than looking at the statue does.
Half an hour to forty-five minutes covers it comfortably. Treat it as a temple visit rather than a monument visit.
The site is comfortable year round since the drive is short and much of the visit is under cover, though October to March remains the easiest season in Jabalpur generally. Mahashivratri brings very large numbers here, which is either the reason to come or the reason to pick another day.
