The Johila River originates from the Amarkantak hills of Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh.
Its actual point of origin is 10 km from Amarkantak in Jwaleshwar. This river originates from the hills of Javleshwar and passes through Rajendragram and joins the Sone river in Kelhari village of Umaria district.
