🔍Bhojeshwar Temple is situated on a mountain abutting Bhojpur. It is around 32 km from the capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal. Every year, thousands of devotees come to this temple to pray and purge their mind, body & soul. Let us take a look at some astounding facts of Bhojeshwar Temple The temple was built by the famous Raja Bhoj between 1010 BC and 1055 BC. The Shivling placed here is made of single stone and is 18-feet long.
🔍The present Maharaja College premises are an important historical site. There is an entry point of a tunnel that is believed to be connected with the Jagdishpur fort of Kunwar Singh.
🔍Bhaktamar Stotra’ ('Bakth' + 'Amar') having 48 Chhanda (Verse), s is very popular Stotra among Jains, daily recited in so many families. It is supposed that every verse (Chhanda) of this Stotra has the power of Mantra and is helpful in getting the dreams materialized. True story depicting the miracle of Bakthamar stotra- King Bhoj seated on the throne of Dhara Nagari (presently city of Dhar) in year 1100 AD.
🔍Manjhar Kund Waterfall situated on Kamur hill, 10 km from the Sasaram. Here in the Sawan or rainy season the local tourists come to celebrate picnic. Here is the tradition of fair on the first Sunday after the Raksha Bandhan festival. A part from the locals, there are also a large number of tourists coming to enjoy this fair. First there was the tradition of carrying the Guru Granth Sahib. The people of the Sikh community used to stay on the Manjhar Kund for three days.
🔍The Sun Temple at Dev is said to be the oldest Sun temple with the priests of the temple claiming it to be more than nine lakh years old. It is also assumed that the temple transcends from Treta Yuga, the Yuga of Lord Rama. A lot of stories and legends are associated with the building of this temple; along with that, the temple is immensely famous for its brilliant sculptures and architecture.
🔍The great warrior of 1857 belonged to Jagdishpur. His fort is still there to reminds us of the great son of the soil who fought for the freedom till his last. Kunwar Singh (1777 – 26 April 1858) was a notable leader during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. He belonged to a royal Ujjainiya (Panwar) Rajput house of Jagdispur, currently a part of Bhojpur district, Bihar, India.
🔍Narmadeshwar temple which has a holy kund made at the source of river Narmada is the most important temple at Amarkantak. There are about twenty small temples in the premises of the Narmada Mandir each one of which is important in its own way. There is the Sati temple, which is, devoted to Parvati. The protected site of the ASI is close to the main Narmada temple .
🔍About one Km. from the main temple, there is a garden, which lies in a densely forested area. It is popularly believed that the Narmada devi used to pluck flowers in this garden.

🔍It is around 3 Kms. from Amarkantak on a difficult forest trek route. It is believed that Bhrigu Rishi meditated here. The Parasvinayak and Chandi caves are on this route.

🔍The origin of river Johilla. There is a temple deep in the forest of Jwaleshwar Mahadev . There is a 'sunset point' close to this temple.
🔍At a distance of 8 Kms. from the origin of river Narmada, the river falls from a height of 100 feet creating a waterfall known as Kapildhara. It is believed that the Kapil rishi meditated here.
🔍At a distance of 1 Km. from Kapil dhara there is another beautiful waterfall on the river Narmada called Dudh dhara.
🔍Two other extremely beautiful waterfalls are situated deep in the forest. One has to walk a few Kms. to see these breathtaking waterfalls.: Shambhu Dhara and Durga Dhara
🔍This temple is under construction. It is considered a construction marvel. Cement and iron have not been used in this temple and the weight of the idol to be placed in the temple is around 24 Tones.
🔍A temple of Lord Ganesha is located in Baigarh a small village, a few Kilometers from the main road connecting Rajendragam and Amarkantak. An idol of Lord Ganesha blessing the devotees is the sight of divine attraction. The temple is surrounded by forest area with springs of pure water originating from the river Narmada. The temple is located in a landscape of natural beauties and herbals which would offer the devotees a great place for worship and meditation.
🔍45 km from Bhopal is the ancient fort of Raisen on the Bhopal-Sagar road. The fort was built in the early 6th century. It is situated on a high hill and once had 84 lakes and ponds, of which only 15 remain. The fort was under the famous Hindu king RaiPuran Mal before it was seized by Sher Shah and brought under Afghan control.
