Forts, palaces and monuments that tell the story
🔍Set in a formal Mughal garden and constructed by under the rule of the Scindias, the Chhatri is one of the famous monuments that shows a fine blend of both Mughal as well as Hindu culture. The Hindu-Islamic fusion is so much that there is a Mughal garden in the backyard that has the royal tombs of the Scindias. These tombs are surrounded by huge trees, green orchards and verdant bushes reflecting the Mughal styles of architecture.
🔍The Madhav Vilas Palace is just that run-of-the-mill yet immensely sophisticated edifice that every rule once built during his reign to show his wealth and clout. Brushed in a soft tinge of rose pink, this lavish residence served as the summer palace of the Scindias. It is yet another magnificent example of the display of a majestic style of architecture. The Palace now serves as a training centre of the Intelligence Bureau of Government of India.
🔍Narwar Fort is situated atop a hill, at Narwar in Shivpuri, which stands on a steep scarp of the Vindhya Range. Kachwaha Rajputs are said to have built. The architecture of the fort and palaces is basically Rajput in style. The fort when they occupied Narwar in the 10th century. Outside the walled town are memorial pillars of the Tomar chiefs. Now the descendant of narwar fort is NarauniRajputs .
